This workshop will focus on acrylic underpainting followed by oil. The paint colors are separated by medium below.

Bondo plastic applicator or anything similar.

Oil Colors:
Titanium White
Cadmium Red Light
Cadmium Orange or equivalent

Brushes:
Filberts, flats of varying sizes. Avoid soft synthetic brushes and brights. Also, please don't bring short, stumpy brushes to class. Natural bristle and/or STIFF synthetic are best. Silver Bristlon or Rosemary Ivory series are good choices.
For a natural bristle, any good quaility manufacturer will do. (Robert Simmons, Silver brush).
NOTE: Bring at least 2 brushes which are 3/4" and 1" wide
Easel & Tray Table:
Please bring a portable floor easel and a very small tray table to hold your supplies, no larger than 14 x 19 (unless you have a French easel).
Canvas:
Bring 1-2 canvas/panels for each day of the workshop, ranging in size between 14 x 18 and 16 x 20 inches
You can pre-tone your canvas in a warm gray color (acrylic) prior to the workshop, David uses: Dick Blick matte acrylic warm gray.
Palette:
Please bring a palette at least 11 x 14 or bigger
Medium:
Refined linseed oil, but not cold pressed (NO STAND OIL)
ONLY odorless turpenoid or Gamsol, no turpentine or Liquin for cleaning brushes. Please bring a container with a lid so you can take remaining solvent home and seal your container each evening.
Paint Vessels:
Paint cups or old cans (bring several)
Other:
Paper towels, and wipes.
PLEASE ALSO BRING NEWSPAPER OR SOMETHING TO PUT IN YOUR CAR FOR TRANSPORTING WET CANVAS.
Apron or old shirt to protect clothes
Notebook for taking notes
