$3600

Judy Crane

Judy Crane has been a full time professional artist for over 30 years. Having worked pastel and watercolor, she presently works primarily in Oils. She paints in a manner that encourages the viewer to see the subject as the eye sees a scene, not in photographic focus, but with atmosphere and depth of field.  She captures the sophisticated and lush color of nature and of our man made environment, and presents them in a believable and exciting way.  For the observer, her work conveys a feeling of "being there".
In this Travel exhibit her beautiful colors and play of light highlight vistas from Croatia to the Greek Islands. Judy is widely collected in NC and has been in many solo exhibits including her dramatic large NC landscape canvases at Raleigh's Performing Arts Center in 2012. In 2014 and 2015, she was juried into Women Painters of the Southeast. Her works are in numerous Corporate collections with her images chosen exclusively for the upscale Marriott in downtown, Raleigh.

Lynda Harris

Lynda Harris graduated from NC State University with a Master’s in Landscape Architecture and has spent the last 30 years designing urban and commercial spaces, urban parks, and residential hardscapes and gardens. Although she drew with pen and rendered detailed landscaped drawing and elevations with markers and pastel pencils, she never translated her talent into painting until recently. Her passion for design and gardening has led to painting with a focus on landscapes and ones that many times include architectural elements. Learning how to capture light and mood and not being a slave to photographs is an ongoing creative challenge. Lynda has studied with nationally known artists Albert Handell, Rick McClure, John Poon, Dawn Whitelaw, Dan Beck. She continues advance studies with locally-based artists Becky Patman Chandler, Leslie Pruneau and Nicole White Kennedy. Lynda has had sveral very successful solo shows and been in many group exhibits in the past few years including Nicole's Studio, Roundabout Gallery and solo shows at restaurant venues.

Bert Sult
Morning Stroll
watercolor framed and matted to 28 x 20
$825

BERT SULT

Architect, Bert Sult started painting cityscape watercolors a few years ago and in a short period his works have garnered a wide following.

Known predominantly for European, New York and iconic steet & landmark scenes, his loose, lively, masterful use of watercolor and expressive method of wet in wet lost edges juxtaposed with lines and figures imbue a distinctly sophisticated, nostalgic yet ethereal tone.

Combining controlled washes with soft edges against areas of line and detail creating intentional light, shadow and shape patterns livened up with people moving the viewer around the scene is a lifetime goal many watercolorists pursue and Sult's work rises to this challenge consistently.

Bert Sult has been in numerous group & solo exhibits throughout NC.

JEAN KOLB GRUNEWALD

Jean was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and was inspired by her father, a talented classically trained artist. At an early age she started painting, winning numerous awards before college where she received a degree in Fine Art. When not painting, she studies art, lately the old illustrators and colorists. In her professional life, Jean has taught art, been a cartoonist, designed commercial art renderings and neon signs, painted portraits, executed large wall murals and exhibited and sold paintings throughout the East Coast and California. After living in California and loving the California Impressionist and the Irvine Museum, she was mainly interested in "Plein Air" painting. Moving to North Carolina, Jean has gone back to portraiture and figures, inspired and honored to have won two awards for the 2015 Portrait Society of America Members Show. Always a soft spot in her heart for horses, you can find her other paintings at the American Academy of Equine Art shows in Kentucky. She is an award winning member of Portrait Society of America and has been juried into Oil Painters of America, American Impressionist Society. Jean has been juried into Women Painters of the Southeast 3 consecutive years.

Cecilia Guitarte
Marching to a Different Tune
24 x 36 oil on canvas - wrapped edges
$1400

CECILIA GUITARTE

Oil paintings by Cecilia Guitarte have a clean graphic style with a keen eye for lighting nuances and a focus on everyday subjects elevated to high art. From sliced fruit and vegetables to mist-shrouded trees, serene skies and whimsical still lifes, Cecilia’s distinct detailed imagery stands apart “My paintings are based on photos taken around my home and on my travels. I see lines and shapes, darks and lights and try to accent what has caught my attention. I have a very logical mind, so I like to simplify the objects and the colors that I use; I liked clean lines and a smooth surface” It's no wonder Cecilia gets juried into numerous prestigious shows, including being juried into the National Oil & Acrylic Painterz Society in 2015 and 2016. In the Raleigh Fine Arts show judged by NC Museum Director Larry Wheeler and the N.E.W Show juried exhibit at VAE. She won 1st place in the 2012 Small Treasures exhibit at the Cary Gallery and in 2011 won Honorable Mentions in the Fine Arts League of Cary annual exhibit and the NC State Fair Juried Exhibit. She is in numerous private and corporate art collections both local and in her home country, Argentina.

Diane Pyun
Nature's Wall
24x30 oil on canvas - custom framed
$1975

DIANE PYUN

Diane’s beautiful, serene, atmospheric and also energetic paintings are executed with varied brushwork, nuanced color and a keen eye for composition. She is a rising member of the local art scene in Raleigh, North Carolina. Diane has moved through multiple paths to finally reach
her home as a landscape and figurative painter. Growing up, she had a desire to create, experimenting with an array of mediums and projects. After college, she worked in New York City, giving her a chance to continue studies at the Parson’s School of Design. As a result, she pursued
a career in design for many years. Currently, whether in plein air or in the studio, she works in pastel, watercolor, and oil mediums, using her work to highlight the beauty of her beloved home state of North Carolina and her travels. She approaches each painting using a different
method, the outcome always unique. The question becomes what to preserve and where to abstract: how to translate the ordinary. The process often begins with transparency: abstract over abstract until the real emerges. Where the design, value and brushstroke converge in a
satisfactory way. She wishes to describe the ordinary, to emphasize the wonder, and to revel in the process.
